Now what do I do about bottles? I visited a local welding supply and they will not sell me bottles. They want to lease them to me for $70 a year, but I would rather buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been through this. Your only hope is to find someone selling a set of bottles that they actually own. Make sure you get some documentation showing ownership or the supply house won't refill them for you. I personally think this whole thing is a scam for them to make money off of us year in and year out. I am currently leasing until I can find a set to buy. Just my $.02, or is that O2? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Whip out the yellow pages. I found my bottles that way. I called every listing and got a quote. I got mine back in the 90s and I think I paid like 120 for both bottles and a hand cart w/tray.

I haven't been able to find anybody locally that will actually "sell" the bottles, they all want to lease them.

I havn't been to this forum for a while. But i still want to get a truck.

Anyway, i just got a mig welder. So im looking into buying a tank also.

I know that SEARS sells oxy acetl tanks in their catalogs. JCWhitney, has tanks in their catalogs, but i cant recall which ones again.
And harborfreight.com, carries the three tanks for mig, and im pretty sure they carry the tanks for oxy acet.

the tanks range from 50 bucks to 100 bucks for medium size one. Yes, they are making good money if your paying for what it costs to buy your very own tank every year, and not including the cost to fill the tank up.
