NEW axle DESIGN

    Hey i was at this school the other day and they had these set of axles so i mossy'd on over to check em out and they had a weird set up that was new to me there was like a huge ball that the tire pivoted on? and another thing the tires were a name like bullet something some kinda back woodsy name i cant remember exactly got any ideas>?

    we call those them there ball thingys, closed knuckle axles...most everything now is open knuckle, save for our mitsubishi commercial 4wd trucks...not sure what else might be still..that is old design, toyota and nissans with solid axles were always like that..

    Yeah that would be a rather early closed knuckle d44 or d60 probably. Whats NEW about that? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

    we have an old closed knuckle dana 44 sitting in our garage think its from a ford

    yea ford D44's had them a buddy of mine has one in his truck from a late 60's ford
