I have a question on a much more mundane topic: My '89 K5 is sorely in need of a new dash. The existing one is cracked all to %$@#. The only thing I have been able to find are the cheezy covers that you're supposed to slap on over top. Anyone have a good source for a new replacement dash?

My only suggestion is GM. You might post this on the "big" board, maybe someone else knows.

The dash for your Blazer lists as the following: part # 15641405 in the Mitchell Estimating guide, years 81-91, shows to be 271.00 and is a paint to match item. You can use www.partsvoice.com (it will re-route you to a new site) and enter this part number and your area code to get a list of dealers near you that have this part in stock. I would find one of these dealers and go take a look at what they have to make sure it's what you need. As mentioned earlier, you probably have to paint or dye the dash to match you interior. Hope this helps.

I agree with Stephan, go GM to get the best quality unit.

gmpartsdirect.com lists them at $164.23. might try that.

Take a look at my post in the main forum that says First big assignment....assistance needed. My hubby is also looking for a dash pad and there are several suggestions in that post.

I tried gmpartsdirect.com, but looks as tough they only have parts for '94 and newer vehicles. I also tried entering in the VIN number and didn't get anywhere. How'd you get the $164 price? That's the best I've seen. Thanks for all your help.

Got a little distracted a little bit with the crate motors on the GM performance parts section [IMG]
