Just came back from the shop. New one chamber Flowmaster and Magnaflow hi-flow cat. Holy cow!!! The thing is quiet, at idle. Get romping it and it's loud. It's louder on the highway, but I'm sure with some carpet padding and sound deading in the rear, that will go away. And like I'm going to let the wife drive it back to work, HA!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet...I have close to the same set-up but I'm gonna go with true dual exhaust later down the road.. Nothing like waking up the neighbors when coming home from a party at 4 in the morning [IMG]

I want to know what dual 1 chambers sound like without cats. I was thinking of this setup.

I know Flowmaster says that their 40s are the loudest, but other people have told me otherwise. I don't find the 40s loud at all unless they're dumped after the muffler, the pipe is large, and the engine is built.

It's quiet at idle, but getting on the gas, it sounds almost like it's open. It gets loud, there's a little resonance, not what I thought I would get, but enough that if you don't like to hear it on the inside, stay away from one chambers. The two chambers are a little milder, deeper.

My 40 series setup is modest. I run true duals out rear. On the gas it sounds bigger than any of the other chevy trucks with a catback. Just doesnt seem to stand its ground against the litlle R/T dakotas. Could be that I am not running tips but doubt it.

    Re: New exhaust UPDATE!!!

I've drove around on the streets and highways a little bit since yesterday. I guess my partner was right, it will get louder and deeper. Holy frijole batman!!!! Under load at about 55-60 the thing is rocking my world, but I'm sticking with it. Also had my first "wanna run 'em" character today after he heard it.
