Just bought a new power steering gear for my 74 gmc and now when I lock the wheel all the way to the right or the left it squeals. Do I need to take the new gear back off and switch it for another one. Or some one told me it could be my old pump. Any one have any ideas.

Sounds like you need to tighten or replace the belt. That's not an uncommon problem, I've always been able to tighten the belt a little and it goes away.
