I don't care for the looks of most newer vehicles. A few look good, but only a few.

I don't think the design looks too bad. Maybe if all that shiny-ass chrome weren't on there, it would look better.

Yep, looks too much like a SuperDuty. They could have maybe drawn a little inspiration from the 73-87's perhaps.

I have to say I kinda like it.... it surely looks a hell of a lot better than the "pissed off chinaman" look of the previous gen.

They can start by ditching the huge chrome corners on the bumper

Undecided about the Ford, it could grown on me, but the engine never will.

But I like this truck with the rims.........

I think GM considers 73-87 the bastard child trucks i swear...you never see ANY styling cues from them anymore. I personally love the 81-87 squared up style:laugh:

While I love 73-79 frontend. Looks absolutely manly. Maybe GM doesn't like the styling of the 73-87's now because maybe there's a 'redneck' or Southern stigma attached to that styling. Doesn't bother me a bit, I like it actually.

I think there's a trend of BIG = AMERICAN/MANLY, so everything is grossly exaggerated. IE bumpers that are 1 foot tall chrome and look like they took zero creative effort other than "Me like bumper big [pound chest]". Yet at the same time adding Trump-style luxuries to the big dumb manly thing. I don't know why, but when I see these things I think dumb rich guy, or dumb extremely in debt guy.

One day the body's will be a big box. There will be no contours or glass, they will be all solid and translucent alloys for like emission (headlights) and driver visibility.

I was on the phone with a dealer last week about a new 4wd fleet vehicle, and I told him if the '07 Chevy front ends look as bad as the chinaman ones, we're getting a Dodge or Toyota.

Agreed! Full size trucks 1 ton dullies in particular have become so frigging homo ghey and over priced it is a joke. Why can's a guy go out and buy a truck that he wants with out all the crap on it to jack up the overall cost. Trucks are quickly becoming the old Cadillacs of the modern era with the over use of chrome and gadgetry.
I would also agree that taking styling cues from the older models would be a good ideal. But they would fock that up as well.
