Hey guys. I moved to Phoenix last year and bought my truck back in Nov. It's a 76 with 350, 4 inch lift, and 35 tires. She needs work but I'm already loving this truck. I look foward to seeing/talking with you guys in the future. I'm change gears from the Euro world to the full size 4x4 world so I know I'm going to be posting alot of questions.:D

Welcome, Dave. Where you at in QC? Maybe we've seen each other around and didn't even know it. This site will be your new best friend. I've learned everything I wanted to know and a few things I didn't. :wink1: Get good at searching as almost every topic has been covered, but if you can't find it don't be afraid to ask. I love feeling like a veteran when more noobies show up. :p:

yep, small world. My truck is a lighter blue with a primer/blue front drivers side fender. A Carolina Panthers plate on the front bumper and two spots on the passenger side where the PO tried to bondo the body. I'll get some batteries today and take a pic and post it.

I am not meaning you, or we will intentionally be trying to rip off the metal, but le'me tell ya, where I personally have been wheelin with this crowd, I am suprised at where a Suburban can actually go with minimal damage to the body.

Over the past few years i keep getting more and more damage, scratches and minor dents and such, but hey, that's what i bought the truck for, was to wheel and have fun with.

you WILL have a good time with this crowd out here, :D

There are a few guys here that have been on the trails several times, and know them REAL well, if you are unsure if your truck can make it through without any issues, or major body damage (if this is a concern for you) then just ask, one of them will tell you what they honestly think about your truck if they believe it can make it or not.

If you are still unsure, do what i have done before and ride with someone, see what the trail is like and how it treats the other trucks. You can get a real good idea as to what is going to happen in/to your truck just by watching how other people get through the run.

I personally know there are a few trails now up around the Table Mesa area that i won't take my truck through, just because i still like SOME of my sheetmetal :doah: :D :p:

But because i asked for opinions, and they gave me their honest opinions, and i also did not take offense TO their opinions, i rode with people, saw the trails, and was thankful i didn't let my ego get in the way and try to run something that my truck or myself was not prepared for as far as possible breakage or MAJOR body damage.

I got ya, I took a mild off road trip today up on the Apache Trail (Spelling?) Actually off of it, Stopped by one of the lakes to take the Kids swimming.:waytogo:. I have thick skin and I respect the opinions of others. I am by no means a trail master. My last off road viechle was my HUMV but I left that with the Marines.

    :D I see that.

I got out in 04, I did thirteen years in the Corps. I've been here since Aug, 05. I go to school full time now. I havn't done any off roading other then what I did today and it was just a sandy/light rock trail down to the water at the lake above Canyon lake (I can't remember that lakes name.) I go camping up on the Mogollon Rim either sharps creek or woods canyon lake. In fact I have to figure out the electrical problem with my rear turn signals so I can Wire in my trailer lights.

Well, get ready for the upgrades, little by little, you'll go out wheelin, and realize you could have something better that would help you through a spot or two, and it just keeps going from there:D

and again, prepare for some good times
