Well today my wife and I were going to go see a movie since the relatives are driving back to Chicago. We stopped by the pound which is open until 4 on Sundays. We rescued a shepherd mix 11 months old. Never did see a movie today . My cat is a little apprehensive, but will come around /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

hes not stupid, got to learn to lick it.... cats and dogs are funny in my experience, especially when the dog is the kind that anything can happen and they don't care.

Thanks for the replys /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Well its a female, her name is Sara, she came with some history. The original owner was a lady who couldn't deal with a puppy chewing. The pound got her on 5/25/04. She has beem fixed, got her shots, and has a microchip in her as well as tags. Hopefully she won't get lost. First thing I did when I got home was to finally put my new latch and padlock on my back gate /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif nice looking dog we got all three of ours from the shelter or friends that didn't want them. Just keep her social, take her where other dogs and people are(like a bark park) and she will get use other dogs and people. And dogs are the best security you can get for your home, besides a 12 gauge with buck shot /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Just got back from Allan's house, she seems fine with children and got along ok with the other dogs...except the momma dog. She wanted to play with the dogs and the momma dog didn't like it. All in all great time with her . /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've never "bought" a dog. Every dog I've owned came from the pound or an individual who was to lazy and irresponsible to fix their pet. I personally think mixed breed (read "mutts") are the best as they don't have the bad traits doubly reinforced. I also think that people who pay big money for dogs are idiots.

    Fix your pet!

MY sentiments exactly /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif This dog is sweet, good tempered, just a little work on chewing . Damn the previous owner, gave up a wonderful pooch. A little work and I have a wheeling partner all the time /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

If you're lucky. I banged a tree really good wheeling with my oldest dog when she was a little over a year old. Got rid of that 84 K5 soon after. When I got my Tahoe, had to beg her to get in. Now I just got my 72' K5, took her out front, she took one look at it and ran back inside with tail between legs. My wife laughed her ass off.

Looks like none of the females in my life have any love for the new toy.
