    Rene,
The hood change is due to some custom body work I have been playing with. Since the Blazer is powered by a Cady engine I figured I would give the truck a little Cady flair. I designed the new front end to give a little Cady, Mack truck looks.
I just finished up painting the Blazer and am still working on painting the new front and roll pan, should have it compleated and on the truck next week sometime.

Thanks for the interest and reply.,,,,Later,,,Jack

    New front end.

    Okiemuddog,
I tryed to edit my member profile but it will not allow me to change anything but my user name and password.

My name is Jack Hildenbrand I live in southern Ohio, I am 58 years young, maried, bunch of kids and grand kids, and I love my Blazer.

For as long as I can remember I have owned a K5 Blazer of some year. The 86 I currently have I have had it for around 6 years. Has over 220,000 miles on it. Last June I desided to completly rebuild it from the fraim up. Every thing on the chasis has been rebuilt. All the running gear has been rebuilt. The engine it had in it was a 305 small block, never was very happy with the power and torque.
So, I desided on the 500 Cady. Was a very simple install. Used a rebuilt Olds th350 trany that bolted up to the Cady engine. Built up the Cady engine with some purformance options, HP around 425 with 512 ft/p of torque. Due to the Cady 8.5/1 compression the engine will run on low test pump gas and gets around 13.5 mpg. avrage.

This has been a really fun project. Thanks for the reply. Later,,,Jack

Guess we won't be seeing you out on the trails. Tree ans rock rash wouldn't look too good on that new paint job.

Welcome, That is a cool concept. The front end really works well with the caddy idea (similar square lines, etc.)! I would never have beleved it would work so well if you had only told me the idea, but after seeing it, its pretty darn cool! Its good to see some variety around here, not just trail rigs w/ 60/14 bolt ff x-ed, blah, blah, blah.

I bet that caddy motor could somke those tires 'till they pop!

Welome to CK5. I'm new too, and have been admiring the site for months. The cool thing that separates CK5 from the rest is, here people seem to know what they're talking about, and not just making posts to talk crap.
    Oh, cool graemlins, too. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

First, Thanks to all for welcomeing me to the message forum.

RATAH: My home is in Jackson, Ohio. Just East of you, out Rt 32.

big pappa b: Not to sure about the rocks and the new paint job. However it won't be new for long. May hit the trails with it when the new wears off. I ust to be into mud running very heavy in my younger years, work on them all week and tear it up on Saturday. Alot of fun.

atlantak-5er: Well I got a big suprise when it cam to smoken the tires. My brother installed a Cady in a 84 Buick Regial and it would smokem about at will. My Blazer of corse is a little heavyer and the weight transfer to the rear wheels due to the short wheelbase is much more. Well the short of the story is. The only way you can smokem, is to hold the brakes. Now on a WOT takeoff it just seems to jump of the line and it does lay down some rubber but never does really break the tires loose.
Sure has been alot of fun, pulling up along side of a 5 liter Mustang and betten him to the next light. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

    Again, Thanks ALL. Later,,,,Jack
