Get some Lapua subsonic ammo and slide an empty 2 liter plastic bottle over the barrel for a quiet shot. Great for varmint hunting.

they're nice looking guns, but all 3 ive shot against at the range, malfunction like a mofo, my 50 year old jc higgins can outshoot all of the ones ive seen, but i do like them, i think the others just were improperly maintained, id like to shoot one in good working order

May I present the JAZ for Jackrabbit Assault System.
    Based on a Ruger 10/22.
    Using Remington SubSonic hollowpoints.
"When The JAZ Sings, Another Rabbit Gets It's Wings.;)

Not heavy enough for coyotes, but good for foxes and skunks, or anything that tries to get into the henhouses.

Woohoo. Nice. Ive built up some very nice 10/22s. I had one that would do a Dime size group of 10shots at 50yards. I was using WolF match target ammo. Not cheap but very consistant, it was standard velocity.

Here is my pride and joy. I shoot this more than any other guy I own. Cheap to shoot and very quiet.

How much trouble was it to get a suppressor? I've been thinking about a suppressed 10/22, especially with the new neighbors.

Both of those are pretty badass!

I've got a 10/22 and MK II (or III) on the list pretty soon, nothing like either one for plinking and sharpening up your skills for other weapons.

First you have to see if your state allows you to own a suppressor.

If they do, than the next step is to locate an NFA/Class III dealer.

Then you need to go talk to them. Normally you have to have CLEO (chief law enforcement officer) to sign the FOrm 4. This cannot be jus a normal cop. it has to be the top cop of where you live. This is the biggest hassle and what usually keeps ppl from getting anything, 9 outa 10 CLEO wont sign.

There are other routes to go. Such as incorporating ones self (LLC).

And then file paperwork with the BATF and pay an annual stamp fee of $280. As I understand, that fee is PER ITEM, PER YEAR, any surpressor, selective-fire weapon, or any weapons on their restricted list.

Oh yeah, silencers do wear out.

yeah, silencers and MGs are for rich people only (where is the supreme court to strike down that BS when we need them!?!?!), which is a bummer. I'd like to build a 10/22 with a collapsing stock and drum mag. That'd be cool. Sorta a mini .22lr caliber tommygun. :)

Very Very wrong. This info is incorrect.

You do pay the ATF a $200 dollar tax stamp per item, but its a one time deal. There is no annual paying of anything.

Silencers dont wear out per se. they jus build up LEAD inside. This is from shooting alot and getting the suppressor extremely hot and not cleaning it. Some .22 cans you can take apart and some you cant. After I shoot mine at the range, I pour CLP in it and plug up both ends and let it soak. I also only use COPPER or COPPER Coated bullets. Non of the subsonic are copper coated though, they are all LEAD. I shoot Winchester Dynapoint, it has been tested to be on the line of subsonic. so it borders subsonic and standard velocity. The ammo in the pic I posted is jus Primer only. It is dead ass quiet, but will not cycle the action. Great for some indoor target practice. lol

My dad has a 10/22 nice gun, guess you could say its mine i take care of it and am the only one who shoots it. Although...I cant hit a damn thing with it, I think I am going to get a scope for it.

A few months that I bought a Henry Lever Action .22. That baby is dead on, never touched the sights. I can hold 15 LR as opposed to the 10 in the 10/22. If I get a scope for the 10/22 I will be getting some banana clips for sure, but I like this Lever gun alot.
