New Progress Pics of the Cap\'n

I'm serious, having the server down did me a lot of good. I've gotten all this done in the last week. I'm working to make the sand drags in Amarillo in 3 weeks. Thought I'd share with you guys (and gals) [IMG]

Yeah It is strange, When the site was down i actually had time to go out and work on my baby. Hmm maybe steve should shut down the site durring the weekend days so we can get out and work, then turn em on at night so we can learn how to fix what we screwed up!

It's the really long pro comps. I can get the part numbers tommorrow if you'd like.

Thanks for the kudos. I'm very very ready to have her running. Hopefully the engine will fire after sitting for 2 years.

Dont I know it. But the site's back up now :( That's ok I guess, cause I have a few questions to ask.

All I've got left so far is:
    install drivelines
    hook up tranny linkage
hook up fuel cell and pump
    install battery and tie downs
Put in the '91 rear springs
    Rotate rear spring perches.

The tailgate, half doors, front bumper, corner guards, and gauges can wait till I get back. [IMG]

Looks good, but your seats look to be mounted really low. That's just my eyeball measuring tape though....

I liked your rear shock mounting point!

The seats are just about right for me but i'm 6'3". If they do seem that way, it won't be any big deal to add a spacer block in there though...

Thanks, I know the shock mounts aren't the best looking in the world, but they're functional, and FREE.

Re: New Progress Pics of the Cap\'n

marv, that will be an incredible factory type length. Guess I'd have to cut up my nice pretty bed if I went with those. [IMG]

btw, since my homeade shackle flip, i've noticed my rear shackle angle SUCKS. So I'm going to make some custom brackets after this trip and do the F150 springs I have laying out back. Might as well. Do you max your shocks with your setup?

excellent. mine are about 1/2" longer than that, so that's what I needed to know. Did you center them when the truck sat level? I put mine at 6.25" extended at truck's level, which leaves me with about 7" to go.

    Nice bob-job!

One question, what size tubing did you use?

OK two questions, and what kind of tubing is it?

    Thanks.

Re: New Progress Pics of the Cap\'n

I'm assuming you mean for the bumper. It's 4x2 3/16" wall rect tubing. That put my reciever tube hole about 1/4" past past the backside when I welded it in flush. That way I dont have to modify every reciever attachment when I get them. The outside mounting plates are 1/2" by 4", simply because I didn't have any 3/8. [IMG]

if you meant the cage, it's 1-3/4" .109 wall HREW

Yea, I meant the cage but, the other specs put what I saw into perspective. What does the tubing cost? Like so many $ per foot...

    Thanks again.
