Whoa, those bumpers are cool! I want some of those rock sliders, too! Are you going to be doing a tech article on them, to see if they live up to their name??

    Tough lookin bumbers!
Anyone think that the tire carrier will rattle?
    Mine's a daily driver- - 30 miles oneway - 35's might cause a rattle.

Hmmm, I was curious about the rock skids to see how they mount and do they come without the step? So I emailed them this morning and got no responce [IMG] oh well probably wouldn't have worked for a first gen K5 anyway.............

I believe the sliders mount to the body and not the frame, the step is removable, they are from a Jeep, just pull two pins and the step comes off for off-road.

    Hmm, to the body eh.
I wonder if thats better than to the frame? I duno? seems it may be better for flexing reasons, I may go extream and replace my rockers with chanel steel like Depdog and Grim-Reeper. I think that mkes a statement and sets the tone that I ain't her to sit at the trail head and watch

First I would like to thank for the comments on our new line of K5 parts.
I also like to say thanks to Steve Fox for helping with the vendor pages.
I try to answer the questions in the order they are posted here.

    For JR and Mudfrog,
A package deal will be possible.
This package will include front and rear bumper, spare wheel carrier, and rocksliders.
I'm working on a package price.

    For 89K5,
I have this spare tire carrier on my K5 with a Eagle 589 15x10 rim with 35" BFG MT. This since approx 5k miles, and no ratling.
There are two locking systems included in the carrier, one horizontal to keep the carrier lined up under heavy load, and the vertical lock that locks behind the bumper.
BTW, carrier is designed to handle 38" tires on 15x12 rims.

    For Bone85K5,
Steve will do an evaluation when he has his bumper.

    For Burt4x4,
The rock sliders mount under the body tub on the triangular sub chassis.
Opinions vary regarding the flex of the K5 chassis.
I dicided to make two version, one that bolts only on the body and one that bolts on the body and chassis.

For all that sended e-mail off list, they will be answered in the order they arrived.

I guess this is the only place we are going to answers to our questions since he will not return e-mails. I would like to know about the tire carrier you can use with the oem bumber, ie: how much $, how it is installed.....

I thought I should apologize to Fredd for my last statement about not returning E-mails! Listed below is his reply to the questions I asked about the spare tire carrier that will work with the oem bumber. Thanks for the response Fredd!

Sorry for the later answer, but I had 72 mail regarding these K5 parts, and
I try to answer they each in the order of arrival.

    > I want to know a little more about the spare tire carrier that can be used
    > with the factory bumper. I have a 1990 K5.

The carrier part is the same as can be seen on the webpage at ColoradoK5.
The difference is the supporting parts that are hidden behind the original
    bumper.
This moves the bumper 3/4" to the rear so there is sufficient space for the
    hinge part to pass.
This support is attached on the right chassis leg with the load spread over
    a sufficient distance.
The locking part is attached between the two chassis ends, and serves also
to accept part of the load of the carrier.
The only work you have to do is on the cover between body and bumper.
On the right side, you have to shorten it and in the middle you have to
drill a hole for the locks. Templates are provided for this.

    > Do you have any pictures and

Not for the moment, but pictures will be done later next week.

    > what is the price?

$480 including all grade 8 hardware.

    Best regards,

    fredd
