A while ago, there were a few people were wondering if the new gas tanks from Autozone came with baffles in them or not (can't remember who were interested, so I'll post here).

Well, I bought a 25 gal. one (Part # GM15B; $118) and it did not have the baffles in it. Was just empty inside, so I returned it.

    Well, there's your info.

Did they offer a baffled one /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif as an alternative or was the non-baffled one all they could get?

That part # and GM14B (for 31 gal.) were all they offered. I didn't check the GM14B, but I would assume that it didn't have baffles in it either. Most places only sell these "brand" tanks, including LMC, Advanced, etc.. I'm just going to try and fix mine up when I pull it (again [sigh]).
There was another parts store that sold another "brand" tank, but it was $275....hell no!

I bought my 31Gallon (TBI) tank from JC Whitney....it was good quality, and had a baffle attached. No problems after 4 years.

It helps when combining low fuel levels (below 1/3-1/4 or so) and high angles (or braking/turning/accelerating forces). Especially with in tank pumps that don't do well if run dry.
