    just wanted to introduce myself...

Looks like a great board. I just recently picked up a 1990 K5 and I LOVE it. Finally got rid of my Range Rover (hated it and wanted a K5 originally anyway).

Anyway just wanted to check in and say hi.

Anybody from Rhode Island? New England area?

Great place for your first post! Howdy from CA and welcome to the best wheelin board on the net. The people are great and the trucks are better. Even if they have some screwed up ideas on how to run the country... J/K... You'll find that these people are full of help. (well they are full of something anyways) /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I like your username! Welcome to the site. We're all a little off-balance, but we're friendly and don't bite.

I'm in NYC/Long Island, good to meet another northeasterner here!

there doesn't appear to be many of us (Northeasterners) here. No worries. Where on the island are you?

Yeah the username comes from my summer ride. Got the K5 for winter and off-roadin', but I can't wait for summer to get the top off and go the beach. My first convertible...JOY /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Right in the middle, on the border of nassau and suffolk. I pay suffolk taxes and a nassau phone bill, go figure.

These trucks beat anything else out there, if for nothing else, the top! I keep going to put mine on ebay, and every time I start to put pictures in the auction, I see her with the top off and can't bring myself to go through with it!
I was the same way with my first K5, couldn't wait to get the top off. The first time I did, I attempted it alone with a tree and a pully in my yard. It didn't go terrible, but the top was alot heavier than I thought it would be...

funny, small world...my inlaws live in Woodbury, and I have probably a dozen clients on the island.

I suspect the top is a 2-man job, and I want to get a soft top so I only need to remove the hard top ONCE per season.

    Don't sell /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
