I am new to the k-5 scene and am trying to fix up my 83 k-5. Its the 6.2 litre diesel body style with a 305 gasoline engine in it. Everything in it is factory and i want to know what should be replaced to make it an acceptable offroading vehicle. Im looking to resell with profits in a few years.

Also, im looking for a k-5 hood ornament, anyone got one for sale?

Uhm... what do you mean by offroad... like mudding? Trail Riding, etc? If everything is mechanically sound throw on a small lift 2.5-4" and throw on some 33-35 Mud terains And you should do great off road. You might wanna change the gears out but thats kinda pricey - 4.10 or 4.56 Depends how much pwr you have and if you have overdrive... if you want lots of low end pwr and dont mind reving higher on highway opt for 4.56 if you want more pwr but wanna keep it low on the highway go for 4.10.

Not only is selling your K5 bad but if you wheel it you probably wont be able to make a profit. I have seen so many ads in the Truck Trader of rigs with Many thousands invested being sold at losses. One was more than ten grand less than what they had invested. I think the ad said "Over $26,000.00 invested, asking $12,000.00" That's a $14,000.00 loss. Man that was a nice rig, wish I could have scooped that one up.

If you knew the truth, you too would be against marijuana prohibition!

if you go into this k5 thing expecting a profit you may be dissappointed, best rule of thumb is if you spend 2000 fixin it up only expect to get 1000 back, i can only speak for myself but for me this is a love affair, i am shamelessly in love with my blazer, oh well, keep smilin :)
