I carefully cut all the welds holding in my metal dash in my 87 K5. I was going to make it removable for future projects and repairs. I just got to thinking I would rather have a nicer and newer dashboard setup.

Are there any nicer ones I could pull out of a newer wreck that would fit with minimal modifications? Maybe out of a 2000? Does anybody know what the nicest bolt on would come out of and what year or if the overall dimensions have stayed close to the same in the 90's or even newer?

My rig was rolled and I'll never feel safe taking off road so I am going to make it a nice vacation vehicle and would like the plushest interior I can find. That old metal setup just looks uncomfortable for some reason ;-)

Anybody done this or have any info to pass my way?
