I think cats get fat because they are fixed. We have had 3 now that haven't been fixed and they are skinny fockers. My cat will end up getting fat one day because he is getting neutered. I have seen a couple of cats that look like HUGE fur balls. They look hideous.

"Neutralized?" Is that such a word for cutting animal balls? "Neuter" sounds more like it. :haha:

My sister once had a cat.
He was a tom who was fat.
All he could do was lay on the mat.
When he got up, he shat.
    Hairballs are all he spat.
    His name was not Pat.
He was bigger than a rat.
And could not fly like a bat.
His head was too big for a hat.
Let me put it this way: he was just fat. :doah:

Seriously, her cat was HUGE. We got him on a scale to weigh him for $h!ts and giggles and did not end up laughing at all when the scales tipped 21 lbs. for a cat! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :haha:

Our last cat was 27lbs. Used to fall asleep inside the bag of food. Never could keep him out of it.

Not enough exercise and fed too often.

With your spread he should have ample opportunity to work out. Just set him in front of a Richard Simmons video with catnip and watch the magic. :D

Or give him to Canmore for a few months, he's running a prison work camp.

    Why do animals get fat????

So, I used to run a lot with my chocolate lab, Coco. Well, it’s been so hot out recently that we haven’t run in over a month. Since her exercise has been cut, I’ve also cut her food portions and now, she’s constantly looking for things to snack on. Just the other day, my wife accidentally left a piece of spicy bread on the counter. Well, we were out and Coco ate it and got sick. She’s constantly cleaning out the cat’s food bowl too.

Well, we decided to do a little experiment. We left a rib bone out on the counter and set up what is called a Scat Mat. It’s normally used for cats, but we turned it up on high for Coco. It sends a quick electrical charge. We decided to set up my camera too to catch anything that might happen. Well, the wife and I went out to a movie and within seconds of us leaving, you can hear Coco cleaning out the cat’s food bowl and then proceeds to counter surf for whatever we may have left.

Sorry the video is so bad, it’s just a regular camera that will take movies too.

Scatmats have saved my furniture. That is great.
