Took my k5 offroad today for the first time after it was lifted 4". It makes a noise, only in 4wd while accelerating or under power, not rolling or with only a little power, that seems to be coming from the transfer case, or around there. The transfer case was not lowered, and the shafts were not lengthened. What could be the problem? Thanks for the input.

It sounded like when the frame is twisting and makes the creaking sound, but it wasn't constant, it was on a second, off a second. Like a knocking sound. I know thats a lame explination, but I dont know how else to describe it. Oh yeah, if you were wondering this did not happen before the lift was installed.

Ok, I have found the problem. The cv joint on the front of the transfer case is hitting the cross member. I am assuming this is because the cv is now forced to be tipped down because of the lift. If I have the shaft lengthened will this solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

I got the transfer case lowered today, and that solved the problem. The shop even did it for free, because they said it was there fault it wasn't put on there in the first place.
