OK I am going to buy a TBI short block to put my 2.02 heads on,I know I will have to buy another flywheel and possibly an electric fuel pump. The main question is will normal SBC heads bolt directly on a TBI block. TIA

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you'll need a new fuel pump. You should be able to pull the block off plate off and use a mechanical pump.

Again, I may be wrong, but aanyone want to chime in and either confirmor deny?

There were some blocks that still had the mechanical fuel pump set-up built in and then there were also some that didn't.

That's what I'm thinking. I know that on both of the 89 blocks that I had, they both had block off plates. I'm just not concrete on which years did and didn't.

    Thanks Mike.

If you look around, for a bit more, you could be into a factory roller cam block. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know I've said it before, I wish I went with a factory roller block but then again its still not a big block.
