Devil's Den is centralized and many people know where it is how to get there and it's relatively easy for even stockers.

Shiloh is further east, lots of mud and trails...few rocks.

Gilmer is rocks i believe, east of Dallas, kind of far for alot of people.

Katmecy is in mason, texas and its north west of Austin, lots of rocks and scary stuff.

Twin Butts is in San Angelo, has some harder obstacles to go through, so people say. San Angelo is north west texas.

If San Angelo wins, I might be able to make it. Will probably be in my Scout though.

not pushing the den or anything. i went out there this past sunday and had a blast.
i'm not sure what type of terrain you guys are after, but when i go to the den i try to stay out of the mud pits. mostly run the creek side.

I can make it to San Angelo, more than likely; but there's no way I can make it down to San Antonio with out a tow rig or fullsize spare.

    Where is the Den at?

Edit: I am assuming San Antonio? I damn sure couldn't make it that far. That's a long drive from Lubbock...

yeah it's in SA. that's the problem with our lovely state. the size of it. someone is gonna be a little too far from any wheelable place.. i think the best place to get together would be katemcy, but we'll have to wait for the park to open up again next year.

unless you guys want to meet up oct 25?? i'm heading to the trees ranch. last weekend of the season.

Trees' last weekend is a little early for me.

As far as all of us riding in one rig, I don't think all of us would want to ride in my rig at 55 mph all the way to SA. That would be a long drive. My tow rig however is a crew cab. Maybe it will be out of the shop by then.

Texas is a big, big place. Looks like the den has some fun stuff, were those pics about the extent of the difficult terrain, or is there more to be had?

as of right now yes. unless you like mud..there's a cupple of other rock climbs that are not pictured because we didn't attempt them this time around. makes for a great day run.
we are planning on cutting some new stuff when it cools down a bit and extend the "rockgarden" trail section.
maybe by the time nov. 29 comes around it'll be done.

I *HATE* mud. I do own a chain saw though. Several as a matter of fact. Not afraid of running trees over either. Sounds good. I just wanna go somewhere where there are some good rocks.

In case you havent noticed, the back seat area isnt very big in a K5. And like Bryan said, 55 mph the whole way wouldnt be too fun. I cant even stand to go 70.

I voted for the Den. I'm only 5 minutes away, got tools and stuff for rig repair that's necessary. Nov. 29th would be perfect, I should be completely ready by then. Is Oct. 11th still happening??? I'd still like to go out for some wheeling. Going to be a nice week, supposedly so it should be all dried up by then.

Ah, I was talking about the possible Devil's Den run that day... Oh well, I'm putting that bearing kit in the diff hopefully on Friday, U-bolts get made Friday and lug nuts ordered and that should be it. I should be all set up for the 29th...
