I'd start with a complete tuneup - Module, cap/rotor, wires, and plugs.

I'm so poor I can't even pay attention [IMG]

K&N Air filter will improve around 1 MPG. And if you keep your heavy foot off of the skinny pedal it will help ..LOL Dan

Fuel injection, right gears and overdrive and keep the cool tune on the engine.
I think yellow paint helps too. all the rice boy's paint stuff yellow. Supose to add like 10hp or something so that extra power will help push the truck down the road.

LOL! Yellow paint? I thought it was the off center stripe and japanese lettering [IMG] Get "blazer" in japanese on the hood or top of the windsheild and that adds 20 HP if you line the characters up nice. There's 3 extra HP for every foot of vynil tape on your truck too.

If you add HP. Your not working the engine as hard to get up to speed. See simple. And a CK5 sticker is supposed to add another 5hp at least. All that hp for under 10 bucks......Dan

So let me do the math.... I want about another 100HP. Each sticker is 5HP So that's:
100/5 = 20... 20 @ $8 is $160. Sounds like a worth while investment. Now if only I could get the stickers in yellow and maybe in Japanese I bet each would net 20 HP, what do you think?

You call that dirty!?

Now look what I started! What nobody wants to take me up on the egg under the gas peddle. I think that will get you another 5mpg more than the CK5 sticker (but you need the sticker for it to work).

If you just cant resist the pedal, then put one on there. What I see some people do is put a sping on the carb throttle lever opposing the other spring already there, This makes it a bit harder to hit the pedal hard. i just took mine off, Im don't paying for gas for a bit more horse.

Check out http://www.paceparts.com/small_block_chevy_heads.htm they are $510 for vortec heads drilled and taped for use on older small blocks (that way you don't also have to buy a new intake).

It is nice not having to buy a new intake but if you still have your old cast iron stock unit just spend the extra for an edelbrock aluminium intake, it will match the heads better and has a much easier bolt pattern(8 verticle instead of 12 angled.) I just got done putting a set of vortecs on, i got mine off ebay for $450 and that inluded shipping and chrome valve covers. you can get a used set for even less.

Drafting Semis, I thought I was the only one dong that, Tends to get alittle squrliy if you get out of the zone. Seriously, Give the big guys a break, I see way too meny people cut the big riggs off.

To do the vortec heads the right way, you need a vortec intake. The intakes ports on the vortec heads are higher than the older styles.
