How difficult is rebuilding a transfer case? how much should I expect to pay for parts?

rebuilding a 203 is harder than a 205 as the needle bearings go EVERYWHERE once you get the tail housing off. If you have a good place to do it, plenty of time, even more patience and ~$100 it wouldn't be that bad.

it's easy, the worse part is getting it out,If you put a hose clamp on the splines on the end of the mainshaft after you pull the tail housing off and the tail shaft out of the way the bearings will not fall off. look here for prices http://www.drivetrain.com/
If you do a search there will be reading for a few days on what you need to do

Actually it wasn't that bad, the bearings are different sizes so it's easy to know where they go, use some thick grease to hold them on the shaft when you put it back together.
$100 for rebuild kit sounds about right.
