    Hey,
The 82 k5 has a leaky front output seal. I bought the part and need to know how to replace it ! Also, I know where the fill and drain bolts are on the case but the question is what should i fill it with ? I know it says ATF but some people say go with some type of light motor oil or gear oil. What do you use in your 208 ? Thanks--

Are you sure it's a 208? I thought the early 80's trucks still ran 203's. I could be wrong, though...

If it is a 208, use ATF. That's what it's designed for. 4qts or so if I remember correctly.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style...

Not hard to replace. Take the driveshaft off, pull the yoke, remove the bearing cover, and rplace the seal. Just be carefull, the cover is aluminum, it will crack pretty easy.

Oh yeah, the 208 uses ATF. 208s came out in 81 sometime.

    Hey,
Above the c/v joint is a flange with 4 bolts. Do i take that off, and then pull the remaining part out ? (Is that considered the yoke ?) And you speak of a bearing seal- how is that connected ? Do i put anything on the new seal before i put it in ? Thanks-you guys are the best.

Sorry, I made a mistake. There is no front cover, just remove the center nut from the yoke. The flange lookin thing. The seal would pry out from the front. Use a little RTV on the metal when you put the new one in. Please forgive the wrong advice.
