I'm trying to locate a NP205 that came behind a TH350. I'm going to put it behind a 700R4, and would like fixed yokes. Please give info you have on 205 combo year ranges. Already discovered that "1980"'s 205's are unique to that year, very rare. Thank you for your help.

What is special about the 1980's 205's?

I was told they are unique in fit to that model year. Is that inaccurate? I'm interested in any info or advise.

This answer would be pretty easy to find in a search, but here it is anyway. TH350/NP205 was used in a ton of '69 - '72 1/2 and 3/4 ton 4X4s. It was the only combo for a 4X4 with an automatic in those years. It was definitely available in 1973, and for a few years after that, but the majority of trucks in those years got 203s behind the automatics. As you know, all 1980 4X4 GM trucks got a 205, but they were slip yoke rear output (that is the only "unique" thing about them).
