My current set up is TH350 with a 208, I am about to swap in a 205, should this bolt up fine? Is there anything I should look for? Also, the 205 I just picked up has been sitting in a guys garage for about 2 years, its a 1975, should do anything to it before installing it? Maybe a rebiuld? He said it works fine but I am not really sure what to be looking for.

    82 Chevy K10- 350 4-bolt, TH350, NP208 (Soon to go), 10-bolt rear (soon to go)

Shifters are entirely different. Haven't yet figured out how I am going to seal up the hole in the floor, since your 208 shifter is bolted to the tranny hump.

If you can find one, use a bolt in tranny hump from an earlier truck, with 205 or perhaps 203. Your transmission hump should be bolted in.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

From your post I am guessing that I will need to hit the bone yard to find another shifter also? Or is an adapter that will allow me to use the original one?

205 shifter is a handle that is bolted to the tranny/t-case adapter. NP208 shifter is entirely different. Boneyard would be my choice, and I'd pull the shifter tunnel out of the same truck.

You need to make sure the floor tunnel is the same lenght as the one you have .When i changed mine out i tried to use the tunnel from the donor truck and it was to short .

CALL AVALA. ENG. THEY HAVE A TWIN STICK SET UP FOR THIS. I HAD ONE IN MY 205 TO 700R4 SET UP IT WORKS GREAT.

  7. th350s that came with 208s have a long output shaft and will not work with your 205. you will have to swap in a short output shaft that was used in th350s that had 203s or 205s. or just look for another trannie in good shape that had a 203 or 205.
