The vent on my np205 is capped with a loose fitting metal cap. Does anyone know if I can just pry this cap off to add an extended vent line, or should I replace the fitting? Is this a press fit or screw in fitting? The transfer case is installed in the truck, so access is fairly limited.

You can do either, I pryed the cap off mine, did not like the look of what was left sticking out, pryed out the rest and went to the parts store nad put in a plastic T, it was a little big, so I did some sanding on it and forced it in. Then I connected the tranny vent to one end of the T and the other I ran up to the fire wall.
