I just bought an '84 K5 for parts. It has an SM465 and NP208. I read that this SM465 in the later model K5 has a 32-spline output shaft as opposed to the 10-spline output shaft on older SM465's. I have 2 questions:

    1) will this T-case and adapter bolt to a TH350, or do I need to get a different trans-to-Tcase adapter?

    2) what is a good source for an old-style output shaft for this SM465 so I can run it with an NP205?

    Thanks!

I don't think they are the same.Try http://advanceadapters.com.They should have a kit that has everything you need.

    Cool, thanks!

I just checked the Advance Adapters website, and it says the TH350 has 27-spline output shaft, so the NP208 T-case is definitely not interchangeable between 32-spline SM465 and a TH350 since the spline counts are different.

    Next 3 questions:

    1)A TH400 does have a 32-spline output shaft. If I want to get a NP205 to fit this 32-spline SM465, will a NP205 that originally came with a TH400 bolt up?

2)Will the NP208 I have bolt to a TH400, or only an SM465 (so I know what to tell people when I sell it)?

    3)Has anyone ever seen a NP205 coupled with a 32-spline SM465?

    Thanks!
