I need this done asap for Moab looking on the cheap side;)

I know where you could get a cheap, maybe free NP241 that was behind a 700r4. Catch is that it leaks. Not horrible, but definitely noticeable.

You know the 241 is a stronger case and chain than the 208. Plus lower low range. It's just sitting on the ground here at the shop...

It's leaking where the case seals together....and I may have chipped a chunk of the case off at Blazer Bash '05 ...nothing structural  :haha:.

Trade you it for some zero-rates :deal: :D

It will bolt right in where a 208 is. The only difference is that only a 241 out of an 89 has a mechanical speedo. The others are electronic. Some say you have to modify the shifter, but my 208 shifter bolted right up to the 241 without any modification at all.

Yes it is Nick's old tcase. And you will need to use your shifter.

I don't know what you've got for a speedo setup, but this one is the electronic version.

Think Bo needs a speedo (wow, NOT a good visual :eek1::haha:) when he's crawling along the trails at 5mph, then back onto the trailer?

    YES! :tongue1:

If he has a speedo I'll come on the next wheelin' trip and get plenty of pics. :doah:

You know we observed the case only leaked when you'd driven all the way here from Boulder and got nice and warmed up. Bein' the Puncher is a trailer queen, it may not leak that much at all. On the occasions your truck sat here it didn't leak.

Is it leaking from the seal only or from where the case has a chunk missing? Is there any way you or Scott could snap a pic for me?

I have your Zero rates in a box. Deana was going to take them to the post office but I found them in the back of her Kia:screwy:

I can get you pics of a dirty transfer case. I never noticed the chunk he's talking about. I think it was leaking before that from what I remember. It is my stained shop floor after all. :haha:

It's not leaking from the seals; IIRC it's coming mostly from the case split or seam.

Yea....the case has two halves that bolt together...that center "seam" is where it leaks. The missing chunk is purely cosmetic. FYI i tried using JB Weld on that center seam, so if you're going to try and get that back to OE specs you're going to have to deal with that.

My 241 leaked from the center seam, too. I pulled it apart when I put the SYE on it and then put it back together with some RTV - no more leaks. It's pretty simple to fix.

If the 241 doesn't pan out and you are still in need of a 208 badly let me know. I have 2 extras for my truck (1 27spl, 1 32 spl). I don't want to get rid of them but I could part with one if a friend is in need. Let me know.

Rebuilding a 208 out of the 2 parts cases you have wouldn't be very hard. 208's are pretty simple tcases.
