    NP208 won\'t stay in gear

    Howdy guys,
I've got an '87 K5 with an NP208, that won't stay in 4hi or 4low. It will stay in nutral. I'm gussing that something just needs to be adjusted since the problem started after a tranny rebuild.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. I've been told it could be shift linkage adjustment, worn shifting forks, or worn transmission mounts. With my luck, its all of the above on mine. Any experience advice her is appreciated.

    Don't follow me, I won't make it.

Mine would jump out of 4lo after I installed the body lift. Chiltons and haynes manuals tell how to adjust the linkage...they can be handy sometimes. Ill dig mine out this afternoon and see how I did it.

You may want to pull it the shift forks have plastic shoes that wear out mine started jumping out and now I had to replace the shift fork chewed the shift feet off of it so lucckily I found one in the JY for 100$ then spent yesterday swapping parts(the one in the Jy was a stick)
