Can anyone tell me what I need to mate a TH400 from a 2wd Suburban to a NP241 from a 91 4wd Silverodo? I know I need an adapter and new shaft. Do I need any other items? Where can I buy everything I need?

    Thanks,
    Bob Hiller

Is that a '91 Silverado, as in Chevy pickup truck? If so, the first thing you'll need is a front axle from a Ford truck, to match the drivers side drop of that 241. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif GM IFS trucks have the front diff on the drivers side, while the solid axle trucks have the front diff on the passenger side.

This is a very special vehicle I am building, It has Front and rear Independent suspension. Maybe I posted to the wrong list but one of your members told me I could find answers here. Still need to find out how to do the TH400 NP241 connection.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Hiller

wel, as long as the th400 has the 4x4 output shaft, and you have the correct factory adapter(88-91 K2500 or even a 1h400 to np208 adapter) it should be straight forward. That combination was used from the factory in 88-91 k2500's so it shouldnt be to hard to do.

The TH400 is from a 3/4T 2WD Suburban. Where can I get the 4x4 Output shaft?

    Thanks,
    Bob Hiller

    Try any local transmission shops.
They should have some on the shelf. It's not that uncommon of an item.
