sorry for the stupid question but I need to know and I have not found any info on it so here it gose. Dose any one know if a nv4500 can handle the 550 foot pounds of torque that a HO 502 puts outs, or will that much power brake the nv4500?

Manual tranny ratings are for continuous duty...and IIRC the NV4500 is fine up to 450 ft/lbs. So, unless you run wide open, and at peak rpm 100% of the time it should be just fine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are thousands of NV4500's behind all those bombed Cummin's pick-ups and they survive that abuse as well. A bombed Cummins put's out way more torque than a 502...and it does it throughout a larger part of the power band.

ok thanks man. yeah i don't pin it every time i get behind the wheel and because it has a much lower first gear then my th400 I'm sure i wont need to use as much power to get things moving when towing or climbing /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

[/ QUOTE ]the 502 is going in to my burb as soon as i get it, but the nv4500 was just an idea I had to get some lower gearing because the th400 dose not have a very low gear or an overdrive
