The 85-91 SM465 bellhousing does not fit the NV4500. It only has the single bolt pattern. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The 465 bell isn't even close when it comes to the NV4500. The bolt holes are so far off in a couple of locations it'd take some major work to make it fit. About the only thing the two tranny's share is the input bearing housing diameter...

Is it possible to use the NV 4500's bell and slave, and simply hook the line to it and go?

on a 2WD...sure. On a 4WD there might be interferance with the front driveline though. The slave and junk is on the passenger side of the bell on an NV4500.

Right, but if your truck lifted a little, there might not be any problems, my slave doenst sit any lower then my 8qt oil pan. You can get the newer bellhousing with the slave in the belhousing.

You mean that extra hole in the middle at the top? That's the only extra hole my '91 hydraulic bellhousing has, but it also appears on the 73-84 linkage bellhousing as well /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'd assumed it was used to bolt up one of the side-loader trannies; either the 3-spd, or 3+OD.

There are only 4 bellhousings which will work with a GM NV4500.

1: Stock GM bellhousing used in 93-95 GM trucks, with the slave on the passenger side.

2: Stock GM bellhousing used in 96 and newer GM trucks, with the internal slave.

3: Advance Adapters bellhousing, for GM NV4500s 92-95, adaptable to mechanical and hydraulic controls.

4: Advance Adapters bellhousing, for GM NV4500s from 96-00, and all Dodge NV4500s, also adaptable to mechanical and hydraulic controls.

Then theres adapter plates to bolt a Dodge NV4500 to a GM 5.125" dia. bellhousing.

    Hope that helps /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
