Does anybody know if a NP241 from a 1990 Blazer has the same spline count as a NV4500? I think the NV4500 has 31 or 32 spines. Has anybody tried to mate this combo togther? I know! I know! a NP205 would be the case of choice but I just happen to have a 241 laying around.

No, the 241s that were behind 700r4s (1/2 and some 3/4 tons) were all 27 spline, whereas the 241s behind 400 trannys were the 32 spline.

So, how many splines does a NV4500 have...31 or 32?

I would say it is 32 spline and not 31 spline. Ford used 31 spline but I don't believe Chevy ever did. You could always put the NV4500 input gear into your 241 and use the stock adapter. I believe this will work. I don't see why it will not unless the bolt clocking on the left hand output NV241 are different. Something to look at.

The NV4500 uses a 32 spline output shaft just like the T400 does. There are only 2 tail housings for the nv4500 one for chevy one for dodge. The dodge one is a bout 2 inches shorter.

I understand the jeep thing I drive a BLAZER!!
