How bout this idea, cut at an angle slopeing back on the door and following the body crease back for a shorter body kind of like how a Jeep body looks and bob the rear of course, would be different and better visability.

I think that was the right answer cuz I think'd you would have a lot of upset people if you did that to the UAV! [IMG]

Steve, can you do that again with just the doors, top, and tail bob? It would still have more of a Blazer look if you left the tub stock hight. I think cutting the doors down will net the biggest gain in trail visibility, and the tail bob cures the rear depature angle.

Man, you guys need to wax your Blazer's and go to the mall. [IMG] Just got bored and was playing around, I will most likely just unbolt the doors and tailgate when I hit the hard stuff, maybe cut the top off, not sure on that yet, I am thinking about cutting the front of my rear wheel wells like my front, I think the "General" has done this to his, it is in the gallery.

That particular version looks kinda goofy........OK< so I'm waxing and mall hopping now!

Anyway, I see where you are heading............the DAY you get a daily driver to replace the UAV as your daily, you and the sawzall will become one with each other and all normalcy (in the form of a recognizable K5 form) will be gone, correct?

Nope, I still want it to look like a K5, I just like putting ideas out there to see what they look like. I did think about bobbing the rear like laketex but put tail lights from a 72 Blazer in, this would elliminate the rear lights from being scrapped off the sides. But, I do like the storage area that I have so I will prolly just armor it somehow instead.

Front end is still just as wide as ever which is just as wide as the rest of the body. Dont see what you are going to gain.

What I really like was the K5 I saw from another link with the doors cut down and in for trail visibility.........and the bobbing that laketex is doing...........that combo if you can pull it off without butchering the 'form' of a K5 would be hot.

Get the weld-in tail light patches and then slip in some LEDS. LMC got the little pannels. Easy mod, no more rippy the tail lights [IMG].

Would make your windshield support very weak.... Had better add a couple of hinges and fold that windshield down while your at it.

Cut the top off, and get a spare set of doors cut out like the roadster kit for a vintage Bronco - or get a fiberglass shop to make a set for you - meet you at the mall!![IMG]
