Howdy!

My 77 Blazers exhaust is mostly exhaust leak with a few bits of metal wrapped around it here and there. I've looked through a couple catalogs but haven't run across any off the shelf exhaust systems for the Blazers.

I spoke with two local muffler shops and they both quoted over $600 for exhaust systems!!

Does anybody have any suggestions on where to look for exhaust components?

What did the exhaust system include for that price at the shop?...I got quoted that much for mine. This includes new Y pipe, high flow cat, pipe to the muffler (flow master), and then pipes out the back....Of course this is CA so it's higher I am sure then probably other areas. But I have found this price average for around here.

I have no clue if this would work for you, or it's legal for your area but check JCWhitney http://www.jcwhitney.com (spend more then $150 until 6/30 and get 15% off, less then $150, min $50 get 10% off- use code AJGN648) out...they might have a system that you could use? Their headers are like $100 and then they sell the pipes (not sure if this includes the mufflers? I think so though) for another $135 or so. If this doesn't include the mufflers then you can get some for a decent price, like $20 each, or spend more and go with Flow Masters (what I'd do). It'd be a set up for true duals. You should just be able to bolt it together. You'd have to buy hangers too for it and chances are maybe an a/c bracket and some other kind of adapter? Not sure what all have to begin with? I know others make similiar set ups to this one. I did a lot of looking for this stuff because I was a hard time with finding smog legal stuff! I would have maybe gone with something like this if they would have been legal. I'd be willing to bet you'll have to spend about $300 for a pre-fab set up if you find one that'll work for you when it comes down to final cost, maybe more if you go with better mufflers like the flows. Let us know what you choose to do! Good luck! [IMG]

Wow, thanks for the offer Bassman.

I'm going to pass on your generosity (Though I appreciate it!) I have dual exhaust right now and with a little luck I'll be able to replace it with another dual system. I'm going to keep looking but I'll definitely visit wrenchead.com

have a great weekend

Wow thats some spendy exhaust place you found there! I just got my exhaust re-done this morning...2 1/2" Aluminized pipe from the collector (had headers already) all the way to the back exiting behind the rear tires, with 2 40 series Flowmasters bent the way I wanted it all for $300...

I'd suggest shopping it around some! [IMG]

Keep looking for an exhaust shop. I went to a guy who did all the work himself, did a really good job too. He didn't do that much, replace the cat and new tips...but good price. Look in the yellow pages for an independent shop, not Midas or something...

Actually I got mine done at a Midas...pretty good guys, the guy that actually did the work was patient and really listened to what I wanted exactly and didn't even mind me watching it get done. I guess he's been doing this for 20 some years and he was damn good!
I'm somewhat embarrassed to say I picked the shop for the close proximity to my house...I ran it down there with open headers [IMG]
If my neighbors didn't hate me before they sure do now, I fired her up at 7:45 am, and I live in a townhouse[IMG]

you can get a true dual exhaust kit made by hooker for either manifold back or header back installs. I bought this kit it was about $100.00 for a header back setup it was 2-1/4" pipe and required mufllers so I used summit turbos. I did it all for under $200.00 bucks. I got everything from Summit racing. Goodluck!

Flowmaster is supposed to have a bolt on exhaust for some Blazers. At least at the one show I was at, a Flowmaster guy looked through his catalog and told me they had one for my 82..
