It's been the topic of hundreds of posts over the last couple of days, so let's have the official thread where everything about beaver oil is in one place.

Please ban yourself. We are talking about beaver oil, not the beaver itself. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Nope. Just thought it would be helpful for everyone if we had an official beaver oil thread. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

You don't inject it. It just gets all over the place when you get near a beaver.

    LMFAO!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Where the **** would we be without beaver oil, brothers? Think about it- it is a lubricant and it is semi-waterproof. What else does a guy need?

    Uses up to now-

    1. It can be used to lube garage door mechanisms.

    2. It can waterproof garage roofs.

    3. It can soil Chaz's sheets.

    4. It has something to do with buffalos and cougars(which adds to it's merits in my opinion)

    5. When aged, it is mixed with gear oil- this explains the unmistakeable odor.

    6. The Big Guy endorses it's use.

Thanks for bringing this natural resource to everyones' attention, Bubba!!!

I think Canmore has done a pretty good job of summing it up here.

    Now,

What concerns me here is that more people aren't taking an interest in this here subject.

    Ryan-

The key to finding the best beaver oil? Make sure you're collecting it from the finest of beavers.

There are lots of beavers out there, brother. Unfortunately, outward appearances are not a good indication of oil quality. It takes a lot of trial and error to learn the qualities of a beaver that is in possesion of Grade A oil.

Some say that the trial and error method, although time consuming and sometimes outright dangerous, is the only way to truly understand a beaver and harvest it's oil. I agree- my favorite method involves "becoming one" with the beaver. This method will generally yield a good beaver oil supply.

    Good Luck, brother!!!
