Since I can't find the official CK5 Dog pic post, and most of those words are too short to be included in a search......

Here's a pic of my dog to start things off:

We don't have any papers on her, so we can't be sure, but her looks are a dead giveaway. She's 18 months and 62lbs (a large female husky is 50) so we think she's got some Malemute in her. We got her from a friend who got her but couldn't keep her in their apartment for free. They were having a really tough time and got evicted and were barely able to feed their baby, let alone their dog, plus a 70 square foot concrete pad isn't a good bck yard for a husky. We had just bought a house with a huge back yard, so we offered to take her so they could see her more often.

Her temperment is great. She's affectionate (sp?), loyal and very well mannered, she's great with kids, adults, cats and other dogs. She does like to dig (hell, I often call her a Siberian Digging Hound :) )and chew, but hey, she's a dog :)

Awesome... I've been thinking about getting a husky, but decided I'd hold off until I move somewhere further north, I live in Houston, TX, and I can tell you right now... a husky would be miserable. I have a black lab who hates it enough as it is... and with black labs being water dogs, he LIVES in my pool to escape the heat.

    Gorgeous Shepherd :D:D:D

I had one back in Michigan as a kid . Was looking for one , but too expensive around here . I ended up saving my Shepherd/Husky from the County Shelter . Someday she will have a friend like yours !

They can be pretty high maintenance, they have a LOT of energy and love the cold. She needs more room than we have and our back yard is probably 3000sqft, plus she gets free roam of the 1400sqft house half the day.

She'll love it when we finally get our acreage out of town some day.
