I am lookin for some lights so I can wheel at night. It will be on trails at speeds between a crawl and maybe 25mph. I want just 2 lights and they will be mounted on the front bumper. Any recomendations? How much wattage is neccasary, and what is better, rectangular or round? What kinda beam do I want, fog, driving, or pencil? Thanks.

Air craft landing lights work good for this. Just don't use them on the highway, they're not exactly legal.

I tried to run those 80/100 watt lights in my 86 and i fried my highbeam switch. You need to get a wireing harness that allows you to run high wattage lights. Painless has them for about $113. I here that it's well worth the money as far as brightness.

Or just wire the stock harness into a relay (with sufficient rating) which in turn is pulling power straight from the battery. That is pretty much what you will have to do with any high amp accessory and it will give you brighter lights too...

There was something about that about 2yrs ago in 4wheel drive. Talked about splicing into the high beam wire for the power to the solenoid. That way, when you turn on your high beams it kicks on the aux. lights.

KC started out making aircraft landing lights. They have a 23 year warantie(sp?) (even for the bulb). You want the round flood lights.
