I just bought (as soon as I give him the rest of the $$) a 1978 Silverado 1/2 ton burb. Its a total grandpa-mobile. 100% stock. 400/350/203 but the 400 is blown... good thing I still have that 410hp/425ft-lb 350 laying around /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Anyway... Its got rear barn doors, rear air, rear heater, very little rust (bottom of two doors and a fender well) and good tires (probably 40% tread) Its grey and blue... and all but the hood and barn doors look like it would sparkle if someone were to wash and wax it.

    Here are some pics...

Only dropping a 350 in it? Impressive numbers and all, but still no 454....

Suburban is the true offroading fullsize, and truly the most versatile vehicle on the road.

If I could find someone to trade me a 454 - stock/mild build for my 350 I would... but so far, no luck /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif Oh well... 425ft-lbs will have to be enough. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    heheh We call our's Gramps.

Running boards are now off (want them? LOL)

Here is a more current picture. The rack is now moved to the back via a Roof rack track off a Jeep Cherokee (longest I could find at just under 6ft). It also has squar utility lights side and rear. Hellas may get moved up to the rack. It's not even a 4x4 but it's a Land Tug for the Land Yacht. When we are camping the rack will have a small generator, Fuel and 4 bikes on it.
Shopping for wheels now. Them Pizza pan hub caps got to go!

I have another 1/2 ton burb I'm thinking of getting. It's a wrecked Deisel....make a bomb out of it. Park the 88 and save it from DD duties. It just rolled 83k and only had 72 when I got it 10 months ago.

    Nice looking burb /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I am thinking of small lift 2-4 inches, with a fairly small tire probably a 33.

Nothing major... but you all know how quickly those plans change! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I wish it was more like yours. I like the cut line on the paint t the body line on yours better and I also HATE the white sides.

Been thinking of checking with the body guy I use and see what he would charge to paint the withe 02 Vett silver or paint the sides complety blue.

Actaully I really like the Vett silver. I wouldn't mind the whole truck painted that color.

I may not be the newest Burb on the block, but I might as well throw a link to mine as well. Dig the before and after on the 4" lift and 35" tires. Makes grandpa kind of sexy, huh? Burb Pics, and Bumpers if you like Right now it is just a stock 350/350/203, but as time goes by, it will get pimped up a little. It is my wifes daily driver (She is only 4'11" tall. Quite funny).
