November has been VERY mild this year. However, we know it has to come to an end sometime, and it looks like tomorrow Old Man Winter is coming to pay a visit.

Click the link to see what I get to work in starting tomorrow.........:doah: :(

I think that they forgot a number. That looks like it says "2" which translates to "go south".

Cold weather = extended evening snuggle time.

If I were you, being married to Kim, I'd be throwing a damn party. :D

    Hypothetically speaking of course.

O No dont remind me. Its usually down in the teens F at nights around here this time of year. The lakes start freezing over. But this year its been nice and warm. 40 and 50 in the day barly freezes at night. But I'm sure ol man winter is waiting to blind side us with -0F temps soon. Coldest I rember it getting here is -56F. Now that will freeze your beer.

    Coldest I've ever been in was -45C with a -60C windchill :S

Today was -10C, but with the stiff wind we have, it felt like -30... We are scheduled for a high of -20 on Saturday as well

The last 3 winters have been pretty nice. A cold snap here and there, with temperatures reaching a few degrees below freezing every day normally.

The coldest I've ever been in, with the windchill, was about -55' C. The base temperature was -42' C. Yup, I spent 8 hours in that. 4 of us on the crew took turns being out of the truck, 15 minutes at a time. It was so cold, the hydraulic oil in the hoe just WOULD NOT get fluid enough to run the rams. How did we dig the hole? Yup, you guessed it- with our trusty jackhammer, after spending 45 minutes getting the damn compressor started, even though it had been plugged in all night.

Man, I shudder when I think of that day....:doah:

    :haha:

If its any consolation CanCan, the low temp tonight is 38 F and the high tommorrow is 60 F and to top it all off Im gonna be sitting in a Climate Controled Cab most of the day anyway:D

Coldest ive ever been in was last winter on a train load. It was like 15 below I think or somethin like that and they were saying windchill was 25 below. Well if youve ever been close to an elevator the wind whips around them about two or three times as bad as usual. Our pickups were barely starting. The starter kept sticking on our 02 F250. The shuttlewagon which is what we use to move the railcars with Ran for 30 some hours straight, the water temp never got above 100, we had cardboard on ever surface of that radiator blocking air too!

Worst part about that was we were at work at 730 ready to load the train, well the railroad engines had gelled up like 2 miles outside of town where they had left them overnight for a crew change. So they didnt pull in till about noon. We started loading as soon as we could and were gonna get 100 cars loaded and done about 7 am the next day. At 530 the next morning on our last 5 cars we derailed a car going through the last switch...needless to say we didnt get out of their till about 1 pm.

Like 36 hours at work is bad enough but in that cold its 10 times as bad

yeeh thats rough buddy its chilly here, around frezzing a few degrees bellow when its overcast not to bad AT ALL!!

working in a long sleved shirt, and long as i am doing somthing i stay warm..

will have to wait for the multi layered glazing THAT is fun, hands get frost bite, because i HATE to ware gloves when working, so at most i where some rubber covered coton ones and thats it, after a few hours they stop hurting.
hurts more when you warm them up.
