Damn dude, this is the place you are getting????????

    Holy fawking ya!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I also took some surrounding landscape pics with the 35mm, so those pics should be up in a few days.

I see the desolation would turn off a whole lot of people, but damn........I can just imagine the exploration in the K5 possibilities. Saw a few of the trails.........

And this last pic I took at 0630 this morning so you can't see the horses, they looked a little too good for a Mustang herd, but they were out there the other day and no fence. They are right on the other side of the hill to the east. Have ya seen them?

    [I love Jeeps]'in A excellent score /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Until I get the pics back, here's a little info on the landscape. I'm facing north when I took the pic, right behind me at about a mile if that, is Mt. Boundry at over 13G ft, the highest point in NV. To the southwest is Mt. Whitney at over 14G ft, highest point in CA. The trees are scarce, but I was in awe when I got there. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hey Bubba... Ya the pics don't do it justice. What people can't see is the mountains and thier pine trees just a few miles away. The place is in a huge box canyon surrounded my old mines and trails leading everywhere including The Boundry Peak Wilderness.

The horses are WILD Mustangs. They run free all over the place. Did you see the now closed casino at the top of the grade? That's Montgomery Pass. I worked there as a slot mechanic years ago when the Bordello was still open.

The buildings are a wreck but we have a plan already drawn up for rebuilding. We will be planting lots of trees and puting in an asphault runway that will be 3000 feet long in order to accomodate lear jets.. The entire piece of property is surrounded by BLM land so we will never have any neighbors other than the one you saw across the highway with the huge pond. That pond has 24 inch brown trout in it... Our pond will be active again when we clear the waterpipe that brings water down to the place from the natural springs that are on the property.

Glad you liked it and thanks for taking pics. Can't wait to see the rest...

I was thinking they were wild mustangs, they just looked a little too good. But then again I was surprised by how green it was over there.

Saw the old closed down casino /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif.

Don't worry about keeping this on top though, I'll make a new thread when I get the pics back.

Hol-eeee crap! If I had the money and time, I'd offer to come out and help you work on it in exchange for free reign to explore before it's built out...

    Nice score!

Ratch, ya may freak out by the lack of concrete out at this place....... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

All I know is that Landsmasher should hold a CK5 party at this place when it opens...................Everytime I think about this place, I'm gonna have a perennial hard-on. I'm very picky about what I want for a dream house/land and I tell ya what, this place is about 98% fits that bill.

I tell ya what Landsmasher. Doubt the K5 would be ready for a trip up there by winter time; but if I can get the time come next spring, early summer; we're gonna have to go exploring up there.

You bet. I'll be doing a little of that on the next trip. I have to go up to the west 40 to see what needs to be done to the water system. 3 of the springs that supply water there are on our property. The agent says you need a good 4wd to get there. I told him I had a little truck that might do the trick... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Good idea about a CK5 party. Guess I better not piss too many people off LOL!

Was thinking of getting a bunch of mules and have pack trains going back up into the hills. Lots of pine nuts up there waiting to be had.... Geodes too.... Lots of things that could be done there. Call it Adventure Land or some dumb thing like that... /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Fricken FUMES went nuts and sent this thread to page 2 in one day! Must had too much cugar in his coffee this morning... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Speaking of wheeling, there was what appeared to be a pretty well built '77 K5 for sale down in Olancha and I stopped to get the info and took a couple of pics. 14FF out back, lifted on 35's, springs on rear. Looks like a real good base for $3000. Ya think any of the SoCal dawgs would be interested? I got the phone numbers also for the seller.

I was gonna say we need to give CK5 card holders a standing discount... But we have no cards? Gotta talk to Steve about that maybe... Wonder if I could advertise the joint on CK5? /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

    60 acres, right?

Advertise as trail runs with a place to stay at the trailhead.
