well at least this is trying to happen in a state where not alot of old vehicles ar elft and those that are left and are projects arent really much good cept for parts anyays due to rot,
and its alrady been virtually impossible to posess/store an inoperable vehicle in plain view anywhere in state of IL for years, so its nothing new or different,

    but still.,....

    > A bill (H.B. 25) has been reintroduced in Illinois that would further
    > restrict the ability of Illinois vehicle hobbyists from maintaining
    > inoperable vehicles on private property. The legislation removes
    > historic vehicles over 25 years of age from a list of vehicles exempt
    > from county inoperable vehicle ordinances if they are not kept within

I'm glad I have these morons leaching my tax dollars to decide what is best for me! :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:

    /START RANT/

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY OUR F*CKED UP GOVERNMENT (RAN BY F*CKED UP PEOPLE) IS TAKING YET ANOTHER STAB AT OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES. TO BE ABLE TO TELL US WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT KEEP ON OUR OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY IS ABSOLUTE BULLSH#T! I'M NOT FOR FILLING UP YOUR FRONT AND REAR LAWNS WITH VEHICLES WHEN LIVING IN SUBDIVISIONS, BUT THIS SEEMS THAT IT WOULD APPLY TO EVEN THE RURAL/FARMER TYPE SITUATION.

A STATEMENT WAS MADE THAT THIS WOULD NOT AFFECT RANDY...THAT SEEMS TO BE FAR FROM TRUE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS WILL AFFECT EVERYONE IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS.

I didn't even know there was any type of law currently, I keep my unregistered jeep outside, (I do live in the country) and have never had a problem.

This SUCKS, it's bad enough all the salt they have spread rotted out all the old classics. But now we can't even own the rotted ones. Seems to me with all the tax dollars we pay in IL we should be allowed to have our lawn orniments.

ouch - I've had my k5 sitting unregistered on my driveway for over a year... it works perfect, but of course its been sitting for a while, so it probably needs a new battery/new gas before it'll start up and run well.

so far no complaints... but it makes me nervous to let it sit out there knowing someone could call in and have me fined... what a load of BS.

And this is exactly why I don't want to live in any sort of an urban/suburban area... I want to move to the boonies and have some land.

They should have to give you notice on the vehicle. Plus, I don't think itwill be acted on unless you have bitchy neighbors or an ass for a police force!!
