OHP Troopers Find Rock, Not Bullet, Hit Truck

[IMG] TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say it was a rock and not a bullet that struck a semi on the Creek Turnpike in Broken Arrow.

The truck driver contacted authorities yesterday after driving along the turnpike because he was concerned that someone had shot at his truck. The area has been the site of at least five recent shootings.

Troopers investigated the incident as a possible shooting and concluded the truck had been hit by a rock flung up by a maintenance crew trimming weeds on the side of the road.

Bullets from a 22-caliber rifle struck four vehicles on the turnpike in April, and another vehicle was shot June 7th. No one has been injured in any of the incidents, and no arrests have been made.

There is a $12,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.
