Thanks all for your advice. But the oil cooler I need requires threded fittings (NPT), just so all of you know I found several at www.maxi-cool.com this ia a great site for your complete cooling needs (little pricey). I am also curious how many of you have k5s with factory engine oil coolers.

Factory cooler on the 87 up is not uncommon but on a 74 I bet it's pretty rare. You know I think I know where a Sub is with a salvagable cooler. Griffins in Taylorsville had a few late model subs and trucks with the heavy duty cooling package that should have them.

You must have not read my reply to your previous post very carefuly. B&Ms super cooler does have NPT fittings ,was the same size and replaced my stock GM engine oil cooler almost exactly. It costs 59.95 about half the price of a perma-cool. I got it from www.summitracing.com part# bmm70266
