Pulled my old manifold off and theres oil in the intake, looks like its coming from th 2 tubes that come in the sides. Does this mean my CDR valve is bad?

Alot of oil, like caked, I did my heads about a year and a half and it didnt half this much oil in it. And its only been driven about 13,000 miles since then.

Mine has oil in it too. You can clean it up, but it will go back to the same thing in a little bit.

Do you still have EGR? If so the "caked" oil could be a combination of oil and soot from the EGR valve.

Just got rid of it. Im going through so much oil I was hoping it was the CDR. My oil consumption is in consistant I drive 25 miles one time and burn a quart and go 50 miles another and burn nothing.

If you're using oil that fast its probly the CDR valve. Try replaceing it and see what happens. They're about $50 at the dealer last time I got one.

Why did you replace yours and did it work?

I replaced mine because after I installed my turbo I blew the rear main oil seal. I replaced the CDR valve because I thought maybe the old one was messed up and not able to deal with the increace in blow by with the turbo. The rear main seal was replaced with a 2 piece rubber seal that supposed to hold up better than the original asbestos rope seal so I'm not sure if the old CDR valve was actually bad or not (I just replaced it as a precation). There seems to be alot less blow by out of the oil fill pipe with the new CDR valve though so maybe it was bad.

Isn't there a recommended replacement interval for the CDR? Something like 50,000 miles?

If thats the case im probably 168,000 miles over due! Do you have any tubes or breathers coming out of the valve covers?
