Lookin at crate motors here...got a question. the one im lookin at is for a 1/2 ton or light duty 3/4 ton truck. Will the oil pan be the same, since its for an 88-95? i guess if it isnt i can use the one on my engine now, but thought i would ask. thanks

AFAIK, there are really only 2 different pans. Rear sump that we all know and a front sump that was only used on early (pre 68) Novas.

Unless you want to include the right or left dip stick, or the 1 or 2 piece rear main seal pans into the equasion.

TBI crate should be on the right side. After like 80 they are all right side and I think 86 (maybe) up is 1 piece rear main. TMK. SOOO if you have a 2 piece rear main and a left side dippy stick, youll need a pan.

Right side=passengers side. Sorry Ive been in the car repair biz so long I forget that not everyone just knows that.

As a rule of thumb, its as your sittin behind the wheel.
