Take the back top off the 86 K5 Blazer?? Bryan (the proud 16 year old owner) took all the bolts out and tried to lift the top off (What a heavy son of a gun that is) and the back at the tailgate remained strongly attached...How do you get it off?? does it slide into a couple of slots in the bed side and you have to push it back out of the slots or what? Ours has been attached so long the rubber was rotted so instead of risking a leak we abandoned the removal until we could get new rubber and advice on removal.

Also, after you remove those 2 bolts, you might have to stand in the middle and push up with you legs while your back is on the top. I had to do this with mine to break the seal.

soak the seal with plenty of armor all or soap or you will be at the dealer, bent over for a month...

Yeah, there are two hidden security torx bolts right behind the panels, I would replace them with regular hex head bolts.

If you plan to take the top off more often, then I wouldnt even put those back in. I never put those in, I also skip just about every other bolt. Havent had a leak yet. Good Luck

You have to take the interior panels off to get to the other 4 bolts

And dont forget the rear dome light connector. It's on the driver's side, in front of the window, behind a little panel.
You probably knew that, but just in case.....
