Since you are admitting it you won't mind my response. If you took the time to read posts on this board you would have known that there is already an active thread on this. What you have just done is worse than what you are whining about. When following a thread it is perfectly acceptable to reply to the last post.

Well, obviously that thread did nothing, because I got three responses to things that did not concern me today. So maybe another one is neeed. And if someone is repying to a post, I would think it would benefit the person they are replying to, TO GET TO THAT PERSON!. Especially if it is some type of help, or something for sale or something along those lines.

I don't agree, I believe "reply" should be to the one you are replying to. example, if you and I are at a dinner table talking, you are not going to look at Joe and reply to him about my question!

Am I missing something? When I read someones post about a particular topic, I'm not looking at who is replying to me or whomever or whatever. I read what the reply is and go to the next. It doesn't matter that you are replying to me or anyone else as long as long as it is associated with the original topic. I'm not trying to trash you or anyone else, but unless I can't see the forest for the trees, I don't get it! Also I forget who originated the post, but how does he get email when someone replies to a post? I have never recieved an email b'cos of a post reply.

nest time you make a post look below the gray box, you can check "Email all replies to my real email address" . I never do, but some people do and when they check their email or get told "you have mail" this is what they get. Some people do it different ways, I have seen people reply to each person in a post individually with a seperate post or all together in one, especially in parts, now: Can't we all just get along?

Oh, you mean THAT box. I've never given it a second thought. So if I click that box the reply will be emailed as well as being displayed on the forum page. I can see where that'd get to me after awhile! I see the light now. But if I DON'T click that box it doesn't matter who I reply to does it?

I agree with Jim (jimmyjack) - this is a DISCUSSION forum. We're all sitting around "talking" as a GROUP.

And people - if you don't intend for the reply to be emailed to anyone - DON'T CLICK ON THAT BOX!!

Perfectly acceptable to hit reply on the last post. I'm NOT going to scroll back up to click reply to someone elses message. If I want their attention I will either call their name out in my reply, or I will send them a pvt message.

If you don't like the excessive emails of replies from ck5, then turn that damn feature off in the control panel and quit your whining.

Just my 2 cents, if ya dont like it then click on reply to someone elses post =)

I dunno, Waxer.......... I'm a dummy, but this seems really simple to figure out:

    1. If you are just making a general comment or answering the original poster's question, reply to the first post.

    2. If you feel like responding to someone other than the original poster, reply to THEIR post.

I'm stupid but that seems really simple even to me.[IMG]

I agree...when I see "In reply to tRustyK5" I tend to assume the comments are to do with what I just posted. When someone clicks reply on my post just because it was the last post it leaves me scratching my head sometimes. I do look to see who someone is replying to...it helps keep track of the discussion better and can alleviate misunderstandings.

use your control panel / options so that you don't get the emails at all dude...not incredibly difficult. I don't receive any emails from anyone via CK5...if some noob clicks on "reply" to me and he shouldn't be...the only place that message goes is to the public forum.

I agree. This also strikes on something else, naming of posts. Neither one of these titles makes it clear what the post is about, which leads to multiple threads.

seems this one is headed the same way
