id like to start gathering information on doing a swap from a 700 to a 465. i realize that its not easy either. but i wanna try..and i think with ur guyses help and with my dad i can pull it of. but id like ot get some info about it and whats involved. what parts ot look for..im thinking a junkyard someplace or something with the tranny, bell housing, and all the pedals/linkages.

I recommend getting hydraulic clutch junk...will make your life a lot easier. I'm pretty sure '85 was the first year for it.
But yes, EVERYTHING you need to know is already here. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I hear the worst part is swapping the pedal assemblies. Shouldn't be all that bad if you have experienced help.

*Disclaimer- I haven't done the swap yet, but I've spent hours and hours reading about it here. So naturally I ASSume I'm an expert. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Just type in '465 swap' and you'll recieve approximately 56436746354 hits /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    do the pedal swap first.
as this doesnt effect the driveability of the truck you can do the pedals long before you do the tranny swap to break the job up.
