I am thinking GM 2.5s but I don't know. A buddy insists this is a dodge, I can't find a marking anywhere to decide by. Looks like an offset Rockwell case to the offset dually rear. High pinion front axle with under the pinion behind axle tierod.

well the front tires look like some type of swampers I just noticed, but anyway I know they aren't rockwells, and i think you're right on the Power wagon but that page doesn't have axle info.

thats why I suspected they are GM 2.5s cause I saw Mudzilla. Its got a big time PTO winch in the bed. Put a hearty motor in it , a little more air between it and the ground, some tires I bet it would be a nice mud recovery truck.

Definately GMC. CCKW i beleive is the nomenclature of the truck. cant see if its a 4x4 or 6x6. Those axles arent too bad. 6.17s in them. Mostly open, but a few rare ones had no slips. Not hard to weld up. similar to a 14 bolt inside.

I am almost positive that Mudzilla runs these axles, could they be MH or NAPCO?

2.5 ton GMC Duck axles. They were used in trucks like you posted and also in the amphibious vehicles that were classed DUKW. The army or military dubbed them "Duck" from the abbreviation and the fact they were able to be driven in water.

Look exactly like Mudzilla's. To make sure even further, check the rearend and see if the pinion is offset from the center by a fair margin. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I think that the picture and language in it is out of line for ck5, so I scrolled back up and clicked on the link just to look at this "copyrighted" image without permission.

nope pottsville. Wayne is closer to there then me. Its an hour drive from here. Never been to it. Rolling Rock is made in Latrobe PA. Thats way out towards Pittsburg though(I'm just above Philly). Anyway yes the pinion is offset so they are 2.5 GMCs. Man if I wanted to build a mud runner or put some 49s on the Crawler I wouldn't hesitate to swipe these. The junkyard it is as sells everything CHEAP. I'm getting another 14 bolt(can never have enough, and a 2wd p/s box for $100. Most things are just $20 here a dollar there.
